Place a plastic bag over the painting tray so you can reuse it without the need for washing it.
To put away brushes and roller ( for reuse later ), bag them and put them in the freezer.
When "cutting in" while painting a ceiling, the paint eventually saturates the brush and inevitably drips down your arm--and to the floor if you're not careful. Stop the flow in its tracks by folding a small, absorbent cloth and taping it around the metal collar--known as the ferrule--of the brush. The paint will be absorbed by the cloth, which can be washed out when you're done.
